Tour Overview

The Homestay Program is a cultural exchange experience where you will live and interact directly with a Balinese village family. It is a rare and meaningful opportunity to experience authentic daily life while learning about Balinese traditions and cultural values.

Baliedu offers homestay experiences with carefully selected local families in the cultural area of Ubud. During your stay, you are not just a guest, but part of the family.

With the warm hospitality of your hosts, you may learn various cultural activities such as Balinese language, traditional dance, gamelan music, Balinese cooking, painting, handicraft making, shadow puppetry (wayang kulit), yoga, and meditation.

Baliedu carefully selects host families to ensure they are well-prepared to welcome guests from other regions and overseas, providing a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience.

This program aims to help you discover a “home away from home” in Bali that will leave lasting memories.

Itinerary

day 1

08:00 Pick-up

  • Participants are picked up at the airport/hotel by a guide and start the program.

10:00 Laughter Therapy Session

  • Learning laughter techniques as a relaxation method and building a positive mindset.

11:30 Balinese Dance or Painting Class

  • Choose between a Balinese dance or a painting class guided by a local artist from Ubud.

14:00 Homestay Check-in & Family Introduction

  • Arrival at homestay and introduction to the host family and a brief orientation of village life.

15:30 Visit to Lembu Putih Taro Foundation

  • Visit Lembu Putih Taro Foundation to see the sacred white cows of Taro Village and learn about traditional herbal plants.

17:00 Short Trekking at Tegallalang Rice Terrace

  • Enjoy a light trekking experience at Tegallalang Rice Terrace.
  • Learn about the traditional Balinese irrigation system (subak) and interact with local farmers while enjoying the scenic rice fields.

19:00 Return to Homestay & Free Time

  • Return to the homestay and enjoy relaxing time with the host family.

day 2

08:00 Palm Reading by Ketut Liyer

  • Visit Ketut Liyer, a traditional Balinese healer who became widely known after being featured in Eat Pray Love.
  • This palm reading session will be a unique and memorable highlight of your program.

10:30 Monkey Forest Ubud Visit

  • Explore Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and observe hundreds of long-tailed macaques in their natural habitat within the sacred forest.

12:30 Return & Continue Your Journey

  • Return and continue to your next destination. End of program.

Payment Terms

  • All bookings can be made through our website or via Baliedu’s WhatsApp contact.
  • Full payment (100%) is required immediately after making a reservation.
  • Bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the client.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made within 15 days prior to arrival will be subject to a 50% charge of the total payment.
  • Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to arrival will be subject to a 100% charge of the total payment.

Other Important Terms

  • Our tours do not include travel insurance. If required, guests are advised to arrange their own insurance.
  • We act as an intermediary travel agent that packages tour programs by combining transportation, accommodation, restaurants, and other related components.
